Following recent developments in efforts to tackle the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a decision has been made to stop INS face-to-face services until further notice. However, we continue to support our clients through both video and phone contact (for the current INS programme, click here). Please continue to refer if support is required.

Our Interim CEO Margie Butler has this message to INS clients, carers and supporters:

Dear Colleagues

INS – Integrated Neurological Services

As you are aware there was an announcement Monday evening (16th March 2020) by the government setting out a series of measures including:

  • Anyone with a high temperature or a new and continuous cough must isolate for 14 days
  • Anyone in a household with someone who has these symptoms must also isolate
  • Everyone should start working from home if they possibly can
  • Everyone should steer clear of pubs, clubs, cinemas and restaurants
  • We all should only use the NHS when we really need to.

This advice is directed at everyone, but it’s especially important for the over 70s and for those with some health conditions and especially people who live in London. We believe by the weekend government has said that they will ask for those with the most serious health conditions to be "shielded from social contact for around 12 weeks".

The welfare of INS clients, staff and volunteers must come first, and we have decided to close our face-to-face services until further notice. Staff will be working from home for the next two weeks and we are planning to keep in touch with our clients by telephone and try and provide our clients with support. We will also be devising and sending out exercise plans that can be used at home.

All fundraising events and meetings will be postponed until further notice. We will keep the website updated and will inform you when INS services are running again.

If you need to contact INS, we will be accessing our emails and voicemail messages from our main office telephone number (020 8755 4000).

Thank you for your support and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Best wishes

Margie Butler

Interim CEO
