Experienced NEURO-PHYSIOTHERAPIST required Band 7 salary £33,089-£42,573 (incl) INS is looking for a clinical specialist to deliver services that meet National Service Framework, NICE guidance and National Stroke Strategy standards for long term community support for people with neurological conditions. Effective communicator with the ability to work with all members of the interdisciplinary team essential. You will have a flexible problem-solving approach and implement evidence based practice to contribute to an innovative, long term, community support service. You will have 4 years' postgraduate experience with 2 years' senior neuro rehabilitation experience. New Year Gala Concert "Fabulous", "as good as you see in the West End". Just two of the comments about our New Year Gala Concert on 29 January, which starred internationally renowned soprano, Kathryn Harries. We are immensely grateful to Kathryn and the other performers for their support of INS and to Hampton School for the use of their Performing Arts Centre. Taking Back Control A new group for clients or carers focuses on the emotional impact of living with a long term neurological condition. The programme for Taking Back Control includes recognising the effects of anxiety, stress and depression and coping strategies, including relaxation techniques. The group runs for 8 weeks and each weekly session is 2 hours. We have funding to run the programme twice in 2011. If you are interested in Taking Back Control, please call INS on 020 8755 4000. INS Group for carers in Hounslow A new Carers' Mutual Support Group has been formed for carers of people with a neuro condition in the Hounslow area. Meetings are held every four weeks on Wednesday afternoons at MS House, 82 New Heston Road. Contact Carol for more info at cwilliams@ins.org.uk INS Open Day Our open day on 21 April was incredibly well attended - we were delighted to welcome funders, supporters, local councillors, NHS and community healthcare professionals and, of course, clients and their carers. The Bishop of Bath and Wells, an INS patron, performed the official opening ceremony for our new home at 82 Hampton Road, Twickenham, TW2 5QS (between Third Cross and Fourth Cross Roads). Our guests were able to admire our new base, which has dedicated group and individual therapy rooms, a carers' meeting room and more space for staff. We occupy the whole of the ground floor and all rooms are fully accessible. There is even a small garden for al fresco group sessions! Supporting INS while you shop.... Tne INS webshop is a great way to shop for online bargains from big high street names like M&S, HMV and Waterstones - anything you buy through the webshop raises funds for INS, even though the price is the same as through the retailers' main websites. It has a search facility too and you can compare prices across participating retailers by entering the name of a product eg kettle.
