One of Europe’s most prominent chamber choirs, the Joyful Company of Singers, under its conductor Peter Broadbent, will perform English choral favourites composed from the mid-19th century to the present day. As well as marking the centenary of the death of Sir Hubert Parry with some of his part songs and motets, the programme includes Valiant-for-truth by Parry’s pupil Ralph Vaughan Williams, the enduringly popular madrigal Lay a Garland by Robert Pearsall and three of John Rutter’s delightful Birthday Madrigals.
